Khalilabad lies on the Ayodhya-Gorakhpur road. This is the geographic intersection of Basti and Gorakhpur. It serves as the district’s administrative centre, Sant Kabir Nagar. The Mughal emperors can be found in the town’s history, despite its small size. The town was named after its founder, Qazi Khalil-ur-Rahman, who served as Gorakhpur’s chakladar from about 1860 AD. City is well-known for its fabric wholesalers, readymade garment retailers, and other businesses including brass work. This place is connected with Kabir. This is the place where he departed from this mortal world. After his departure, his disciples found fragrant flowers only and made two memorials for Saint Kabir.
